Established Since 1983
One of the first shrimp aquaculture companies in Central America, dedicated to the production, processing and commercialization of high quality, farm-raised shrimp and related aquaculture products.
Visionary Industry Team
Founded by Gabriel Biguria (PhD) and later joined by Alexander "Zandy" DeBeausset (M.Sc), together they lead a visionary and highly committed team of executives and collabolators, that have transformed Acuamaya, into an innovation driven, sustainable aquaculture company and an important driver in the development of the intensive system, shrimp industry of Guatemala.

Mayasal Shrimp Farm
Established in 1983 - 55Ha
Developed the Mayasal Farm in 1983 with 55 Ha of ponds, one of the first shrimp aquaculture operations in Guatemala and Central America (now 300 Ha of intensive ponds)
First Shrimp Exports
First Shrimp Exports 1984
The company was set up for export markets from the beginning and first shrimp exports took place in 1984

Modern Processing Plant
Established in 1990
Developed a wholly owned, modern process processing plant. One of first companies in Guatemala to obtain HACCP Cetification

New Shrimp Hatchery
Established in 1998
La Candelaria Shrimp Hatchery is established to develop genetic lines and produce PL's (baby shrimp) for the company farms and to support the growth of the industry of Guatemala
First Intensive Systems
Developed in 2002
Developed first intensive systems at Mayasal farm in 2002 with successful results, leading to wider adoption and differentication Guatemala's aquaculture model.

Finca Saquija 2010
2010 - Company expansion of production capacity with addition of Finca Saquija, 50 Ha of intensive ponds
